Getting there
The Oban Caledonian Hotel is situated in the town centre overlooking
Oban Bay, immediately opposite the Rail and Ferry terminals and
close to all facilities.
Coming from the South via Glasgow you will
travel on the A82 Glasgow to Fort William road to Tyndrum where
you join the A85 to Oban.
Coming from the North via Fort William take
the A82 and cross the Ballachulish Bridge, when you come to a roundabout
take the left hand (Oban A828) exit. Follow the road across
the Connel Bridge and at the T-junction turn left for Oban.

Your arrival
The Oban Caledonian Hotel is at the head of the main pier
close to the railway station.
There is no car parking at the hotel, however we do offer a Valet
Parking service chargeable at £5.00 for 24 hours. Alternatively
there is on-Street parking which is restricted to 2 hours between
9.00am and 6.00pm Monday to Saturday, the current charge is 50p
per hour. There are three car parks within 400 Metres of the hotel
which are metered at low rates and another within 5 / 10 minutes
walk which charges £4 for 24 hours parking.
Your bedroom will be available from 3pm on your specified day of
arrival and will be guaranteed for your first night only. If you
arrive earlier we will be delighted to store your bags for you.
On your day of departure we would ask that you vacate your room
by 11am. We do offer a late checkout facility up to 1pm at an additional
cost of £10.00 per hour. This must be confirmed to Reception
before 8am on the morning of departure.
What is the Caledonian actually like?
The Oban Caledonian Hotel is a
traditional Highland hotel which was built around 1880 when the
Railway came to Oban. It has 59 refurbished bedrooms, two restaurants,
a bar and lounge area.
There is no dress code for the restaurant
where people enjoy dressing up or down!
What is your smoking policy?
The hotel is completely non-smoking.
Are there any Leisure facilities?
Whilst there are no Leisure facilities
within the hotel, the nearby Atlantis Leisure is a modern Leisure
complex with swimming pool, flume, gym, health suite, indoor badminton
and tennis courts, climbing wall and café. Discounted vouchers
for the pool and health suite are available from Hotel Reception.
Do you have facilities for the disabled?
The hotel has two bedrooms which have
disabled facilities suitable for wheelchair users with assistance.
They have low baths, WC's with lateral transfer and accessible sinks.
The rooms are situated on the upper floors of the hotel and are
accessible by lift. Each room has lowered bed bases and can be used
as a twin or a double room.
Reception, the Restaurant and Café
areas of the hotel are all situated on the ground floor of the hotel.

The bar lounge serves a wide selection of
teas and coffees and has the best Cappuccino coffee in Oban.
Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits are
available in your room, or you may order beverages in the lounge
area and charge these to your account.
Freedom to Dine
We are pleased to offer the opportunity for you to dine at our sister
hotels, The Isles of Glencoe Hotel & Leisure Centre and The
Ballachulish Hotel. Please book your table as early as possible
after arrival at the hotel to avoid disappointment as all the restaurants
can be extremely busy and tables are allocated on a first-come first-served

What about Childrens Meals?
Children are welcome to dine with
you in the restaurant where they can choose from our Childrens
Menu or a half portion from the table dhôte menu. Children
may dine from our table d' hôte menu at a supplement of £7.50.A
Childrens Menu is also available in the Café Caledonian.
